Walk Two Hundred and Fifty-One – First painting of the year
What a beautiful morning to start 2007! It’s overcast now but it was wonderful to get out before the clouds covered the sky. I did choose what must have been the windiest spot possible (a completely unprotected top of the hill) on my walk, so a couple of passing walkers probably thought I’d taken leave of my sanity. And dear Rufus was as patient as ever while I painted.

You really do an amazing job with puddles. Happy New Year, Julie. I have so much enjoyed your journey this past year, and am keen to virtually walk beside you in 2007.
Wow what a lovely day - here we haven't seen the sky yet - through the clouds and rain. Great drawing and a Happy New Year to you and your family Julie.
This is absolutely lovely!
I love the puddles too, and that lovely green! and the richness of the furrows. Makes me green with envy, here it is getting dryer and dryer and hotter.
I'm on catch-up after maarathon blogging for the last few days
What a great sketch to start the New Year with. Do you find the Arches HP helps with the result?
Beautiful!!! I admire your determination to get out there everyday and draw. I would so like to do the same, but I just don't find the time! I love looking at your blog. Happy New Year Julie!

Thank you everyone for your kind comments. Katherine, the material can help but quite often I've done a sketch that I'm happy with on fairly poor quality paper. The reason some of them are better seems to be more down to the fact that I've found a fairly comfortable position and I've had the right amount of time to do justice to the medium and the subject. Also luck.
Yummy scrumptious colors and design. One of my favorites!
How did I manage not to comment on this one! I remember when I saw it, I was entranced...beautiful, beautiful job.
And how on earth did I miss nearly everything between this and today, the 14th? It's lovely catching up with you, Julie! Wish I could walk with you...
