Walk Thirty-Five – Carpenter’s
As you may or may not know it is law that every English person must go to a garden centre on a bank holiday. As I needed some Jersey new potatoes, I was able to fulfil my legal obligations as fortunately our nearest garden centre, Carpenter’s, doubles up as a supplier of fruit and vegetables – some of which are homegrown – though obviously not the Jersey new potatoes.

How lovely! I've been enjoying your walking and drawing adventures since the beginning. Today, seeing the colorful garden center, it struck me that this blog would make a wonderful book!
It's an American law, too, you know. So, after having dug and planted for SIX HOURS before NOON (aren't I impressive), I'm going to fulfill my duties, as well. I will not have the energy to sketch the way you did. So fun and colorful, this sketch of yours.
Lisa - you're very kind. Well we're all supposed to have one book inside us, but I reckon any publisher would want to check out whether I can stick it through the winter.
Laura I am impressed and also feel a bit guilty when I look at the sad state of my garden. Maybe less cooking and more growing is in order.
What a cheerful, animated looking lot - especially compared with with the people I drew today. We don't have proper new potatoes here either, only little 'chats' which aren't the same at all.
I got my Jersey New Potatoes on Saturday so I spent bank Holiday Monday writing a class on sketching!
