Walk One Hundred and Eighty-Nine – Two benches and a tree

benchesandtree
A quickie as I did the nursery lunchtime run across the woodland park. Do you think adding info at the bottom like this is a good idea?

Are you talking about the line leading in? If so, I like it, gives a sense of depth and distance to the picture with out mucking up what your subject is. Works for me in this one, anyway.

No Tami, I meant the info about the size of the drawing and media used, below the post text. Some people do it as a matter of course.

I think it seems to help some people, sometimes I look at it other times I dont. I guess its nice to know what size it is and what it was done with. I really like the simplicity of line in this one.

I vote for adding the info. I think it really helps other artists. (And I should do it more myself, since sometimes people have questions.) I love the simple elegance of this sketch, and many of your quickie sketches.

Oh, Sorry, misunderstood the question. As a matter of fact, I missed the info too, so obviously, I am not reading it much...

Yes! I love reading the snippets about your life and your process and what you think about what you draw.

I absolutely love your pen drawings. I love how minimal they are and how loose they are. I am a graphic artist so I tend to be very tight and am recently learning how to loosen up. Great job!

Hi Julie, I came across your blog just now. It is the middle of a very dark night in Vermont, USA. I am staying with my niece and her little boy in a huge house in the middle of the woods and was feeling a bit homesick despite this being a beautiful place, it is very remote and I can't sleep, so I looked up Jersey Farm Woodland park which is just across the road from where I live in St Albans.Your site came up! I go out and sketch as often as I can and I recognise some of your drawings. I love your project and did a similar one myself a few years ago. Best wishes Gerry Wilmer, fellow sketcher!
