MY CHALLENGE.
Walk a minimum of one mile from home. Record where you’ve been with a drawing, sculpture, photo or painting and then walk back. Every day for a year.

Glorious sky, Julie. You are so adept at painting these amazing, dramatic pieces!
Yes, lovely - I am longing for some decent clouds. I especially like the way the bottom line of this picture is not horizontal.
Laura and Alison - when I see some of the cloud formations - as subject matter they tempt me so much (they're so beautiful)and I'm invariably terribly disappointed with my attempts. In fact I sometimes think Islam has it right - we shouldn't attempt to convey God's creation at all through art!
well, I think that a bit about landscapes - I'd rather just look at the real thing - however, I love seeing your 'attempts' - they have a delightful spontaneity and vigour even if they do not exactly capture the moment. In contrast, the annual artist's show here is very dissappointing - the size of the pieces is I think too hard for most artists to handle and they nearly all look overworked - no humour, content, surprise - a lot of the work I see on blogs is to me much more pleasing.
Yes I sometimes think that rather than attempting reality we should just use landscapes as a sstarting point for something more abstract or stylised
