Walk One Hundred and Forty Three – Burma Star Memorial

I walked Xavier through Jersey Farm Woodland Park to his new afternoon nursery school, for a taster session, and back past the Burma Star War Memorial. The inscription was very sad and moving, but also, I felt, in some way romanticised the sheer bloody awfulness of young men dying far away from home.
